This is one of the fundamental doctrines of Vedanta which serves as a lamp on the threshold of a house. That means it will give light for the objects inside as well as for the objects outside. Like that, this particular doctrine has been tabulated as the fifth item so that it throws light on 1 to 4 and also on 6-9 being the 9 cardinal doctrines of Vedic Religion.

Several authorities from Upanishads, Brahmasutras and other scriptures are given to explain the above doctrine. If this is properly understood and taken into heart there will be total harmony and peace in the world.
