Chapter 27 deals with the elimination of Karna, a very great warrior belonging to the side of Kauravas. Karna is Lord Surya and by nature and Swabhava is a very great soul but it is very unfortunate that an Asura by name Sahasravarma entered into him and committed all the bad deeds. Karna was not able to exonerate out of the clutches of that wicked Asura. This happened due to the mistake committed by Karna while he was Sugreeva and became responsible for the death of his elder brother Vaali.
Chapter 28 deals with the 9th parva called the Salya Parva and 10th parva called Souptika and the 11th parva called Stri Parva and the 12th parva called Shanthi Parva. This chapter also deals with the elimination of Shalya Raaja and also the end of Dhuryodhana who is Kali himself. Duryodhana was eliminated by Sri Bheemasena in a most Dharmic way and there was no iota of trespassing the rules of Gadha war. Even when Dhuryodhana was dying he called Ashwathama and asked him to take a pledge that he would produce a son through Banumathi and see that Pandavas are erased. This shows the nature of the bad soul because at the time of death the real Swaroopa will come to light and that is why in the case of dying declaration it is said that no corroborative or supporting evidence being required.
